Quickstart

ShopMCP connects a Shopify store to an AI client through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The AI client reads store data through the tools of the selected connection.

  1. Install ShopMCP from the Shopify admin.
  2. Create a connection with the least access needed. A read-only connection is enough for analysis.
  3. Connect your AI client using the displayed MCP URL or the connection method for that client.
  4. Test the connection with a read-only question and check the audit log.

ShopMCP does not provide its own AI chat. The selected client handles prompts and model selection.
